A fascinating history,  in 1763, the mainland was named Grenada when the British gained control of the French who had named the country La Grenada. On 7th February 1974, Grenada became a fully independent state. The name originates from Granada given by the Spaniards in the 1520s. When the British regained control, they failed in their attempts to rid the island of French influences imposed since 1649 when the French settled the island. Years on, our islands reveal influences of Amerindian customs, French and English settlement fused with African, East Indian and Caribbean ancestry.


Authentic culture Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique – a tri-island state often referred to as the Island of Spice. The island is known as the "Island of Spice" because of the production of nutmeg and mace crops, of which it is one of the world's largest exporters.


Our People, with less than 110,000 inhabitants and only 133 square miles of land, the tri island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique appears almost invisible on the world map.  Despite its size, the island is widely known for its abundance of spices, unspoilt beauty and friendly people.


Weather, although the climate is warm all year round, the island can experience some seasonal changes depending on altitude. The dry season is between January and May and the rainy season is from June to December.

Location, location, location, the three islands of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique are located in the Eastern Caribbean, south of the Windward Islands and 100 miles north of Venezuela. Grenada is 12 miles (18km) wide and 21 miles (34km) long, and covers a land area of 120 sq. miles (440 sq. The island has Grenada has 45 stunning White and 9 Black sand beaches, including the world renowned and award winning Grand Anse. The main island is green and hilly and has a mountain range that divides it in half. The interior also contains rain forests, waterfalls, crater lakes, and many rivers and streams. The coastal land has marshes, woodlands, and fertile plains.
